According to the management of GMA-7, they are happy with the performance of "Amaya" since it premiered last May 28. They pointed out that it captured the no. 1 spot in Mega Manila paving the way for their whole Telebabad line-up to regain leadership in the TV ratings.
Furthermore, the show is being endorsed by the Department of Education (DepEd) and the National Commission for the Culture and the Arts (NCCA).
Last Monday, June 20, Amaya registered 29.4% on AGB Nielsen's Household Ratings beating its rival program Guns And Roses which only posted 21.1% The remaining Telebabad shows like Munting Heredera, Secret Garden, Temptation of Wife, and even late night programs like Saksi and I Witness also bested their rival programs in Mega Manila.

After her on-screen partner--Elmo Magalona--served as front act for Miley Cyrus' concert last week, Julie Anne San Jose was chosen this time to be the front act for David Archuleta's upcoming major concert at the Araneta Coliseum on July 18.
Julie Anne is one of GMA-7's rising teen star. She can be seen every Sunday in Party Pilipinas and every Saturday in the sitcom Andres de Saya where she plays the role of Lizzy. She is currently filming the movie "Tween Hearts: Class of 2012" together with her loveteam partner Elmo Magalona and other cast-members of the youth-oriented program "Tween Hearts."

Last Monday night, June 6, Munting Heredera captured the top spot in Mega Manila’s primetime viewing according to AGB Nielsen’s People Ratings. It was the first night without Mara Clara, considered the stronghold of ABS-CBN’s primetime line-up. The top-rating Kapamilya drama series dubbed as the “mother of all teleseryes” had a very successful run that it paved the way for ABS-CBN’s programs to conquer Mega Manila TV ratings. It ended on a high note last Friday night, June 3, by scoring an all-time high viewership for its entire run.
Then last Tuesday night, June 7, it was Amaya‘s turn to hit the no. 1 spot in Mega Manila. Can the epicserye maintain leadership for the whole week? Will it pave the way for GMA-7 to conquer Mega Manila’s primetime viewership, anew?

A riveting story of love, deceit, and betrayal is GMA-7′s newest offering in their “Dramarama sa Hapon” block.
“Sinner or Saint,” starring Bianca King, Alessandra de Rossi and Dennis Trillo, revolves around a couple whose humble dreams are shattered by a tragic incident.
Bianca King takes on her first lead role as Noemi, a timid and compassionate woman, who, out of love, faces imprisonment for a crime she did not commit.
Dennis Trillo plays the role of Raul, an impoverished but determined law student. For the first time in his television career, Dennis breaks out of the typical “ideal man” role and assumes a conflicted yet distinct character.
Alessandra de Rossi, on the other hand, makes a comeback in the Kapuso network by taking the role of the beautiful yet deceiving Corrine in the new soap.
Completing the cast are Polo Ravales as Alvin, an investigative journalist; Timmy Cruz as Sally and Matthew Mendoza as Armand, Noemi’s biological parents; Jenine Desiderio as Celeste, Armand’s second wife; Divina Valencia as Doña Faustina, Armand’s condescending mother; Dexter Doria as Yvette, Noemi’s abusive aunt; Glenda Garcia as Tiling, the mother of Raul; introducing Kim Komatsu as Lourdes, Raul’s younger sister; and Derrick Monasterio as Santi, Corrine’s cousin.
Directed by Don Michael Perez and conceptualized by RJ Nuevas, Sinner or Saint premieres June 13 after Blusang Itim on GMA-7.

After 5 seasons of StarStruck, GMA-7 has decided to conceptualize a new reality artista search.
The new reality artista search has a working title “The Protègè” and it will be hosted by no less than Dingdong Dantes. This new project, a possible replacement for StarStruck, was first revealed on PEP Scoopbox.
Based on the working title of the show, I have a hunch that it could have some similarities or somehow inspired by the hit new reality talent show in America, “The Voice.” The show features popular celebrities as coaches and they will mentor their chosen contestants to vie for the title.
Perhaps this will be the format of GMA-7′s “The Protègè” where the brightest Kapuso stars will mentor aspiring talents to become the winner of the artista search.
But of course, I could be wrong.
We’ll find out as “The Protègè” is scheduled to air on the fourth quarter of this year (or sooner).

GMA News and Public Affairs anchor Jessica Soho was also named as the most trusted news presenter in the Philippines for this year.
GMA Network received the Gold Award in the Television Category in 2010 and again this year.
GMA AVP for Corporate Affairs Teresa Pacis received the award on behalf of the Network during the awarding ceremony held June 2, 2011 at the Resorts World Hotel in Manila.

The Reader's Digest Asia Trusted Brands Survey was launched in 1999. It is conducted annually and is now on its 13th year. It is carried out in eight countries including China, Hong Kong, India, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand . The Trusted Brands survey, which was conducted by research firm Synovate, had 1,000 respondents from the Philippines.

“Iglot” is the working title of the fantasy series being offered by GMA-7 to Claudine Barretto. It’s about a child who found a giant egg that contains a magical creature inside.
Supporting Claudine in the fantaserye are former Kapamilya stars like her, Jolina Magdangal and Marvin Agustin. Luis Alandy is also reported as one of the cast-members in the said series to be helmed by Gil Tejada.
The Kapuso network is said to be launching another child star, after Jillian Ward, who will be the main character in “Iglot.”
Contrary to reports, the new fantasy series is set for GMA’s Dramarama sa Hapon block and not Telebabad which means it’s not going to hit primetime television.
Perhaps this is going to be Claudine’s first hit program on GMA-7 since the Kapuso network dominates the daytime block not only in Mega Manila but also in the nationwide TV ratings as well.

Contrary to reports that the replay of "Temptation of Wife" will replace Edu Manzano's "Family Feud" this Monday and will be pitted against ABS-CBN's "Showtime" and TV5's "Face to Face," GMA-7 has decided to put the replay of the record-breaking Koreanovela on its Telebabad block!
So there will be not just one Koreanovela but two, on the Kapuso Network's primetime line-up since "Temptation of Wife By Popular Demand" is scheduled to air after "Secret Garden."
"Family Feud", on the other hand, is extended for one more week while the Kapuso Network is preparing for Manny Pacquiao's new show - a morning program with Rhian Ramos and Isabelle Daza, according to reports.

Based on household data recorded in National Urban Philippines for the period January to May 31 (May 22 to 31 based on overnight readings), GMA garnered a 33.1 percent average, ahead of ABS-CBN's 31.9 and TV5's 15.2.
For May, GMA finished with 31 household share points--a competitive record driven by the Network's strong performance in the afternoon block (12nn to 6pm) with 37.8 percent of the country's viewing population attuned to GMA programs; as against ABS-CBN's 26.6 percent.
GMA likewise aired the highest rated television special billed World Welterweight Championship The Pacquiao-Mosley boxing special, which landed on the top spot of overall top 30 programs nationwide. The bout, which aired May 8, recorded 61.9 household share points, skyrocketing to 77.2 share points during the actual fight.
The television trend also covered another key area, Total Urban Luzon, which makes up 77 percent of total television households nationwide. For the period January to May 31, GMA cornered 36.6 percent of the viewing household population in the said area, against ABS-CBN's 27 points and TV5's 16.9.
For May, GMA garnered 34.6 share points, bigger than ABS-CBN's share of 28.2 points and TV5's 17 points.
Including specials, there were 17 GMA programs in the list of overall top 30 programs in Urban Luzon this May. The Pacquiao-Mosley bout affixed its rank on the number one spot with 62.3 household share points.
In Mega Manila, an area particularly important to the market as it comprises the bulk of the country's total television household population at 58 percent, GMA convincingly stood out among competitors with 37.6 household share points from January to May, higher by double digits than ABS-CBN's 25.4 and TV5's 17.7 share points.
For May, GMA scored 35.6 share points, way ahead of ABS-CBN's 26.7 and TV5's 17.9 points.
In the list of overall top 30 programs with specials in Mega Manila, 19 were from GMA. The Pacquiao-Mosley bout was at number one with 62.8 household share points, followed by the newly launched epicserye Amaya, starring GMA primetime queen Marian Rivera, which garnered 35.8 household share points.
Other GMA programs which launched in May, namely, Blusang Itim (starring Kylie Padilla), Andres de Saya (starring Cesar Montano and Iza Calzado), and Sisid (starring Jackie Rice), were all ratings winners relative to counterpart programs from ABS-CBN.
Blusang Itim premiered with 41.3 share points, almost double Summer Power's 22.6; Andres de Saya scored 32.8 household share points, higher than Wansapantaym's 22.4; while Sisid garnered 35.8 points, much higher than Frijolito's 18.9 share points.
The Nielsen TV Audience Measurement used by GMA is used by 21 companies including two other local networks, namely, TV5 and Solar Entertainment; Faulkner Media; CBN Asia; 13 advertising agencies and three regional clients. On the other hand, ABS-CBN is the only local major TV network reportedly subscribing to Kantar Media, formerly known as TNS.
In Mega Manila alone, the Nielsen TV Audience Measurement has a sample size of 880 homes as compared to Kantar Media's 770 homes. Nationwide, Nielsen has a total sample size of 2,005 homes compared to the lower sample size of 1,370 utilized by Kantar Media.
