The “Ambulansya de Paa” episode of I-Witness, a documentary that showed how a mountain community worked as a team to transport the seriously ill through rugged mountain trails, is among the 36 recipients of the prestigious Peabody Awards this year. Aired in March 2009, Ambulancia de Paa is hosted by Kara David and directed by Nowell Cuanang.
GMA was the first Philippine broadcaster to receive the prestigious Peabody Award for Investigative Reporting. In 1999, Kidneys for Sale by Jessica Soho and her I-Witness documentary team and Jay Taruc’s Child Labor story on Brigada Siyete brought home the country’s first (and second) Peabody trophies.
According to the Peabody website, this year’s recipients represent the best in electronic media for 2009, including primetime series; made-for-TV scripted dramas; documentaries; news reports submitted from local television stations as well as from the major networks; radio dramas, news coverage and documentaries; and websites.

So, being the most in-demand, popular sex therapist, Lola uses her expertise to spice up her unconsumated marriage. She applies all her knowledge and skills to help her man.
Just when everything seems to fall into place for the couple, Randy's friend Jury (Joseph Smisek) arrives to stay in their house.

Richard Gutierrez was chosen by GMA Network to host Survivor Philippines season 3.
Richard will replace former host Paolo Bediones, who transferred to TV5 a few months after the 2nd season ended. Ryan Agoncillo was first tapped for the hosting stint but he has commitment with TV5 as the face of the top-rating Talentadong Pinoy. Dingdong Dantes and Drew Arellano were also considered for the job.
Richard is excited for this project because he likes outdoor activities.
"It's something bago ulit dahil nga it's with the news and public affairs and it's a reality show. It's my first time to host a reality show so i'm looking forward to it," he said.
In the upcomng season 3 of the USTv Best Reality show, celebrities will vie for the title.
"Misteryo", hosted by Ryan Eigenmann, takes Reality TV to another level as it attempts to unearth the truth about various unexplained phenomena in the local scene.
Part of QTV’s formidable Sunday primetime lineup that has everyone talking, MISTERYO (10-10:30pm) captures on tape the spine-tingling encounters as Ryan tries to experience first hand that which many fear to face.
Popular for his character roles in some of GMA’s biggest hits like Captain Barbel, Etheria, and Ang Babaeng Hinugot sa Aking Tadyang Ryan, who is also currently in GMA Network’s Panday Kids, leaps into his new role as reality TV host with an open mind and a curious soul. His first assignment had him experiencing first-hand the tales of haunting in Baguio’s infamous Diplomat Hotel. With a believer and a skeptic assisting in the investigation, Ryan examined the hotel room by room and even volunteered to stay overnight. Did he encounter ghosts? Or did the mystery turn out to be as fictional as the characters he usually portrays?
The following Sunday, MISTERYO tackled the so-called Romblon Triangle, the Pinoy version of the Bermuda Triangle. Some people believe that the surrounding waters of Tablas Island in Romblon are unforgiving and indiscriminating, sinking small boats and large passenger ships alike. More than 40 ships have already fallen victim to the gigantic waves of Romblon. Could there be a mysterious force, other than Mother Nature, at work?
For its third episode, MISTERYO took on the horrors and revelations that an attempt to connect to the world of the spirits may bring. Ryan introduces viewers to Raymond Valera, a man who claims to not only see dead people but talk to them as well. Can seances help unravel the mysteries behind the case of the missing former PAGCOR Video Technician Edgar Bintain, and the tragic deaths of Ruby Rose Barrameda and the entire family of Pedro Baguion who were killed during the 2000 Payatas Tragedy?
An incubus is a type of demon who sexually assaults female victims during their sleep. During the fourth episode, as MISTERYO was conducting an investigation on these demons, an apparition seemed to have manifested itself not just to the paranormal team but also to host Ryan. What did Ryan see during the mirror gazing session? Will science be able to explain this phenomenon?
MISTERYO, backed by a team of paranormal investigators, also tried to uncover the mystery behind Victoria School in Cubao, believed to be the favorite haunt of white ladies, kapres and duwendes; as well as ghosts that allegedly made appearances in photos and videos, including those captured by the cameras of teams from GMA 7’s Emergency, Q’s Women’s Desk.
MISTERYO also tried to find an explanation for the chilling photo taken during the shoot of horror film Patient X. The picture showed Supervising Producer Joey Abacan with a shadow of a slender figure behind him. Could that shadow be a ghost captured on camera?
Compelling, chilling, thought-provoking, don’t miss MISTERYO (10-10:30pm) on the bigger and better Public Affairs lineup on Q’s Sunday primetime.

Bakit ikaw ang ibobotong kandidato? "
KANDIDATO, the new GMA News & Public Affairs program hosted by Arnold Clavio, will pose that and other tough job-application-type questions to the presidential hopefuls beginning March 3, Wednesdays after Saksi, on GMA.
One presidential candidate per episode will face what may be one of the toughest interviews he or she will ever encounter. The candidates will be treated just like any other job applicant – answering questions on their background, qualifications, and those based on their platform, stand on key issues and issues or controversies they are involved in.
After all, job applicants go through careful scrutiny before they get hired, why not those who aspire for one of the toughest jobs in the land – the Presidency.
The duties and responsibilities of the President are extraordinary, most especially in the Philippines. The times call for a leader who can bring hope and improve the lives of the people; and more importantly, the country needs a leader who is strong, wise and honest.
For its pilot episode, KANDIDATO features former National Defense Secretary Gilberto Teodoro. Easy, average and difficult questions were thrown at him by members of the panel – Malou Mangahas, Howie Severino, and host Arnold Clavio. Believe it or not, the former secretary admitted that he has lied to his teeth! His relationship with "political father" and uncle Danding Cojuangco was also discussed. The questions were weighty and very interesting.
Get to know the candidates in KANDIDATO, airs every Wednesday – beginning March 3 – after Saksi, on GMA Network.
