After Claudine Barretto, Carlo Guevarra and Bayani Agbayani, the 2009 PMPC Star Awards for TV Best Single Performance by an Actor awardee--Joross Gamboa--is the latest kapamilyat to become a kapuso.
Joross is the third Star Circle Quest talent to transfer to GMA after Michelle Madrigal and season 1 winner Hero Angeles. He asked to be released from manager Becky Aguila and he also bid farewell to his ABS-CBN bosses. His new manager is now Noel Ferrer now that he's in GMA-7.
Even before becoming a kapuso, Joross already appeared in two GMA programs. The first one was in a comedy segment in "Kaya Mo Ba 'To?" in 2005 and the second one was in "Maynila" in 2007. It started the rumors about his plans to transfer but not until now that he officially became a kapuso.
Joross Gamboa's first project on GMA is the upcoming primetime soap "First Luv" co-starring him with child stars Joshua Dionisio and Barbie Forteza.

Claudine Barretto expressed her disappointment after her ex-BF Mark Anthony Fernandez was a no-show in the briefing of their upcoming movie.
According to Claudine, she and the whole production team of their Viva/Unitel movie waited for hours but the Darna star did not appear or at least send a text message that he will not make it to the meeting.
“I did not call for this meeting, he called for this meeting...naging 2 pm, naging 4, and then naging...walang Mark…so ‘yon….wala rin kaming plano na hintayin siya," Claudine said in an interview by Chika Minute.
After Claudine signed a contract with GMA, one of the plans the network has for her was to revive her loveteam with Mark Anthony Fernandez. The network even pulled out Mark Anthony from Darna to make way for the said project. Because of this, the reunion movie of Claudine and Mark Anthony might not push through.
“Two months kaming nag-antay, at two months maraming walang trabaho…Yung crew, mga staff because lang nag-aantay kami sa wala...Yong mga kasama ko doon [Star Magic, ABS-CBN's talent arm], kahit sobrang sikat na sila, they were all very humble and very considerate of others," she added.
As of this writing, there's still no word regarding the matter from Mark Anthony's camp. The actor seems to prioritize his upcoming primetime series with Regine Velasquez entitled "Diva" than his reunion movie with his ex-flame.

The GMA News and Public Affairs Yearend Special.”

GMA Network and Solar Entertainment will continue to air Manny Pacquiao’s future fights on free TV and cable --- this includes any future fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr. or any other opponent to be faced by the world's pound for pound king.
The Kapuso Network and Solar Sports have a long-term deal in airing the Pinoy boxing sensation’s fights, and this partnership will continue as the Pacman has signed a new contract with Solar, which gives the latter the rights to broadcast his fights until 2013.
In an exclusive interview with GMA sports correspondent Chino Trinidad, Solar Entertainment President Wilson Tieng confirmed Pacquiao’s signing of a renewal contract with their company. “A few months ago, (Manny) renewed his contract. So, Solar's contract with Pacquiao is up to 2013. Hindi lang ito na-publicize,” Tieng said.
Tieng's announcement comes at the heels of speculation that Pacquiao's fights may be aired over another channel , after reports on the arrival of Top Rank President Bob Arum in Manila. Arum is in the Philippines to personally talk to Pacquiao regarding his possible bout with Mayweather, Jr.
“I am here to meet with Manny. I wanna see what is possible and what is not possible. But in the end I am confident we can come up with something,” Arum said in an exclusive interview with GMA sports correspondent Chino Trinidad.
With Pacquiao set to run for a congressional seat, Top Rank’s CEO admitted that the boxing superstar has his hands full as of the moment. But the Pacquiao-Mayweather Fight is something that refuses to be sidelined, as clamor for the bout reached unprecedented heights after Pacquiao gave Puerto Rican boxing superstar Miguel Cotto a 12-round beating last November.
“I think it is the fight everyone is talking about. It goes back to the days when Ali fought Frazier for the first time in Madison Square. I want to talk to Manny and will proceed from there,” Arum further intimated.
Should the Pacquiao-Mayweather Fight, which experts have been calling the "Fight of the Century", push through, viewers will be able to watch it for free on GMA Network and Solar Sports.
“We are tied up with Manny until 2013. Whether against Mayweather or whoever else, Solar will still have the airing rights for the Philippines. With our partnership, we’ll still air the fights on GMA and Solar TV”, said Solar Entertainment COO Peter Chanliong.
Pacquiao likewise remains to be an exclusive talent of GMA Network. He is currently seen in the weekly comedy sitcom Show Me Da Manny starring opposite primetime queen Marian Rivera. Pacquiao is also set to star in another program which will include comebacking Kapuso comedian Bayani Agbayani and his own mother, Dionisia Pacquiao, now more popularly known as Mommy D.

Darna, the country’s original Pinay superhero, faces another set of super villains that will put all her strength and powers to the test as the program enters its newest season this December on GMA Telebabad.
Starring Primetime Queen Marian Rivera as Darna, the country’s number one telefantasya continues to cater to all viewers of all ages with its remarkable stunts and adventures laced with touching storyline plus state-of-the-art effects.
After repossessing all her powers from her previous supervillains, Darna’s adventures will be more engaging as four more terrifying super creatures are about to wreak havoc every night – Serpina, Babaeng Manananggal, Babaeng Demonyita and Electra, the Queen of Planet Women.

Serpina, portrayed by Katrina Halili, is the daughter of Kobra and Babaeng Impakta. After her half-sister Valentina disappeared, Serpina has no choice but to fulfill her father’s wish – that is to multiply their race. Just like her half-sister, Serpina will also fall for Darna’s first love Eduardo (Mark Anthony Fernandez). She will do everything to get the man’s attention and get rid of Narda, the alter-ego of Darna.

Sexbomb Rochelle Pangilinan, meanwhile, will play the role of ferocious Babaeng Manananggal. She will disguise as Dr. Deborrah during the day to easily spot pregnant women and other possible victims in town then transforms as an ugly winged monster at night. Deborrah holds a secret that is the key to unveil the past of Ding, the only person who knows the real identity of Darna.

Starstruck Batch 3 Ultimate survivor Jackie Rice, on the other hand, plays the character of Helga, a young woman who holds the most beautiful and angelic face in town. Unfortunately, she will be possessed by a powerful evil spirit with extreme wrath and fury that will make her the supervillain called Babaeng Demonyita.

A handsome foreigner will suddenly appear in the small town of San Martin. His name is Vladimir played by Celebrity Duets 3 finalist Akihiro Sato. But behind his godlike features is a wicked and vicious vampire who is out to kill innocent people.
The battle between good and evil continues with the arrival of the most powerful nemesis Darna could ever have – Electra, the Queen of Planet Women. Portrayed no less than by the Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez, Electra is a queen from a different planet who has an incredible strength and power out to conquer the earth with the help of her stalwart female legions.
Aside from Darna, two people close to the Pinay superhero’s heart are exerting their efforts to keep peace and order in the society - Pancho (Dennis Trillo), the lighthearted and principled policeman, and Black Rider (Mark Anthony Fernandez), the mysterious vigilant. Both young men will pursue the same woman – Narda.
Get ready for a more action-packed Darna as new foes arrive and new season start this December. Darna airs Monday to Friday on GMA Network’s primetime Telebabad block.
